According to the Associated Press, Augusta National, after maintaining a policy that denied women the opportunity to join the club for nearly eighty years, has changed course, admitting former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and South Carolina financier Darla Moore as its first female members.

The policy change is a victory for both women and golf, and the nod toward more inclusionary admission practices has me (fingers crossed) hopeful that Augusta National will rethink my application.
